Sixties Classic Car Hire is the brain child of Keith McIlroy.
Keith has been a rev head since his first Honda 90 back in the sixties. Since then he has owned, restored, raced and rallied numerous classic cars and motor bikes in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. From Hillman Imps to Humber Sceptres, Datsuns to Daimlers and Moto Guzzis to Morris Minors.
He currently rallies a 1969 BMW 2002 in New South Wales.
His own collection was triggered by his daughter’s wedding. His daughter asked if he could drive her to her wedding in his recently restored MGB. In a rash moment he suggested a better car would be a white e type roadster with red leather upholstery. Just a few days later such a car came up for sale and he could not resist! The rest, as they say, is history and Sydney Classic Car Hire was born.

Following the success in Sydney, keith is now expanding the business throughout Australia.
If you wish to join Keith, there are three ways for you to invest:
1. Take on a local franchise. A petrol head’s dream business with your own, hand picked, classic car collection. Minimal work. Maximum fun. And profit to boot!
2. Make your existing classic car available to our fleet. All cool cars from the late fifties to the early seventies are welcome. You receive a percentage of the rental income. We handle all the marketing and promotion.
3. Don’t currently have a car? Then you can invest in one of our existing cars. Fancy a piece of Rocky, our awesome Mustang? (“You talkin’ to me punk?”) How about a slice of Bertie, our cheeky MGB? Or you can rough it with Reggie, our 3.8 MK2 Jag – named after that infamous, London, gang land thug, Reggie Kray. And how can anyone not swoon at the thought of spending many private hours with Penelope, our sexy, seductive, salacious E type. Receive a percentage return of the hire income. When not needed by us, it is yours to enjoy.
Established and successful business model. Clients who care for your car almost better than you do. Minimal hassle, maximum fun with fantastic client feedback.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Become a Sixties Classic Car Hire ‘Agent 99’
The whole business is yours. You have a defined territory and an exclusive agreement. You maintain and expand your fleet as you require. You have the fun of explaining your cars to clients when they collect them - and receive the praise when the cars are returned. You receive all the income. You pay a percentage of any direct bookings you receive to us and a larger percentage for any bookings that we obtain for you. Your time commitment is minimal. 30 mins to hand over a vehicle and 10 minutes to receive it back. A wash and shine before it goes out and maintenance as required. Perfect for semi retirement or as an add on to an existing business, whether a tourism business, an existing hire business or an automotive business.
We handle all the marketing and promotion. All the paperwork and documentation. We also provide full training on documentation, maintenance standards, insurance and registration issues, client relationship management and technical advice.
Become a Sixties Classic Car Hire ‘Roadie’
You introduce your own car to the fleet or invest in one of our existing cars. Either way, the car is yours, not ours. It is yours to pamper. Yours to enjoy. Yours to show to your mates. Yours to keep in perfect condition. And yours to receive all of the capital appreciation. On top of that, you receive a percentage of the hire income by making it available to us for our clients to enjoy and you can offset your maintenance costs against that income for tax. All you have to do is deliver the car the day before and collect it at the end of the hire period.
We handle everything else – hand over and return of the car, marketing, promotion, paperwork, contracts, documentation, etc. We are also on hand to advise you on how to prepare your car to minimise wear and tear and maximise client satisfaction and can provide technical advice and support throughout our agreement.

FAQ'S:
How well are the cars treated?
Clients clearly understand that they are driving a car that is over 40 years old and treat the cars accordingly. They really appreciate that we make our collection available to them and they take exceptional care of them.
How much mileage do they do?
You can expect a minimum of 20 days/3,000 kms and a maximum of 60 days/9,000 kms each year. Beyond that we introduce additional cars of that model to limit total mileage on any particular vehicle.
How much notice do I get for the cars to be used?
Most bookings are made between 2 weeks and 2 months ahead but we do occasionally request a same day or next day booking. Either way we will always check with you that the car is available before we confirm the booking.
What about insurance and registration?
There will be a small increase in your registration and compulsory third party insurance. Comprehensive insurance is also available. The first $1500 excess is covered by the client.
What happens if they break down?
All cars are registered with NRMA premium cover. This includes full recovery of the car to home base as well as a replacement hire car for the client. We will handle all of that for you.
Do I need to make any changes to my car?
Our clients choose sixties classic cars to experience what it was like driving cars like that in the sixties. They love the simplicity of the cars so you don’t need any modern upgrades or modifications. We can provide advice on what changes you should and shouldn’t make.
What are the up front costs?
There is an upfront territory cost to be an Agent99. This covers your training and set up, provision of full documentation, advice and guidance of your fleet and exclusivity within your territory. Agent99 agreements are transferable so that you have good-will to sell in the future. The territory fee varies dependant upon the size and make up of the territory.
For our Roadie program we have an up front fee to cover the approval process of you and your car, initial marketing and promotion of your vehicle and to provide advice on any changes to the vehicle. The up front fee will vary dependant upon your individual situation – type of vehicle, where it is based, likely marketing costs, etc. There is no up front fee if investing in our existing fleet.
How quickly am I likely to see a return?
This depends upon the model of car and demographics of the area. Some vehicles will be in demand within a couple of months, others could take longer.
